Mt. Monadnock was a hike I had been itching to do. It has an elevation of 3,166 ft and is one of the most climbed mountains in North America, crazy right?

The mountain is located in Monadnock State Park which houses two campgrounds: Monadnock, and Gilson Pond. We ended up camping in Gilson pond the night before our hike so we could ensure an early start.

This hike was all about the climb- could ya tell? There were one or two amazing lookouts on the way up so obviously that meant some photo-ops.

Monadnock is one of the most crowded hikes I've ever done! You're walking in a single file line pretty much the whole way up. On top of that you're climbing sheer faced rock. If you don't like crowded hikes I'd take one of the other trails! Either way the views from the top are the same.
